Red Sea Initiative
The Red Sea Initiative (RSI) is a network of foreign policy practitioners focusing on the affairs of the Horn of Africa and the surrounding region. The RSI works to bring together policy makers, practitioners, and experts on the affairs of the Red Sea to address and analyze the region’s challenges and opportunities.
This independent platform offers space for discussion on key topics that impact the region at large: politics, Economics, security, development, environment, culture, and conflict resolution.
Mission
The mission of the Red Sea Initiative is to advance a balanced and pragmatic understanding of the region at the local and international level. We aim to promote diverse voices on the ground to broaden expertise on understudied connections between the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea . By providing well-rounded analysis via the lens of different stakeholders, we aim to pursue policy based on mutual cooperation and engaged diplomacy that moves beyond zero-sum politics.
